Who else owned a sports franchise without paying for it? The guy belongs in jail, but holy crap, he almost got away with it!

Really one of the most incredible stories in sports history. I remember being excited because we finally had an owner who was willing to pump money into the team

Spano belongs in the HOF, alright, the Hall of Fraudsters. As I recall, there were plenty of warning signs, but Spano knew how to manipulate his audience. Imagine being able to buy the Islanders with a net worth less than zero? The guy was a manipulative genius.

He almost accomplished that too. All he needed was the money.

Yep that was the one very important component missing from that equation…

He almost got rid of Milbury before being caught. That would have been nice.

Maybe take Barzal off the 1st unit just to see if that makes it a bit better.

Honestly have to ask what the hell Barzal was thinking most of that period.

They get “easier” teams and just think they can pirouette around and score pretty goals. That’s why they’ve been losing to teams like this.

It may have been the worst period I've seen him play. I wouldn't mind if he sits a shift or two to try and get his head out of his ass.

Honestly. I have a 4-on-2…I’ll just blindly shoot the puck into the boards behind me. He had an awful period. Basically a breakaway and a 2-on-1 are both on him too.
